The Lord of the House and the Patriarch

The Lord of the House and the Patriarch

Out of the darkness two figures appear: a tall, slender man, and a crouched, older man.  "Welcome, adventurer," the tall man whispers in a monotone voice.  "Welcome," the older man repeats, even more silently.  The slender man continues: "Now that you are here, and have discovered us, we may as well give you some explanation.  I am the Lord of the House, my father here being the true patriarch.  Our house, our castle holds many secrets, has many ghosts and is home to many strange creatures.  You may encounter none, some or all of them during your visits.  They will never harm you, but they will tell you tales.  They will present you odd stories and strange little mysteries.  It is up to you to find an answer."

The elder man utters the faintest words and your best guess is you heard "An answer."

The darkness engulfs the two figures.

You can
follow a sound you hear on your left
follow a light you see on your right
